Spreading the Magic of Rotary: "Love Our Elderly" Project Kick-Off

The Rotary Club of Baguio Highland, under the leadership of President Eric Bernardez, proudly announces the launch of its kick-off project, "Love Our Elderly." This initiative, in collaboration with esteemed partners, aims to provide essential health services and support to the elderly community in Baguio City. The project, aptly titled "Let's Spread the Magic of Rotary," epitomizes the Rotary spirit of community service and compassion.


A Unified Effort for a Noble Cause

"Love Our Elderly" is a collaborative effort involving several organizations. The Rotary Club of Makati F. Zobel, led by President Mary Jane Gourlay, CerviQ, under the leadership of its Founder & CEO Dr. Bogs Rivera, People of Action, headed by Rtn Tony Cama, and others have joined forces for this noble cause. Their collective expertise and resources ensure a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of the elderly.


Date and Venue

The kick-off event is set for Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. It will take place at The Covered Court in Barangay Lualhati, Baguio City. This accessible and spacious venue will host a variety of activities and services, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming experience for all participants.


Services Offered

The "Love Our Elderly" project will provide a wide range of health services tailored to the needs of the elderly, including:


Mobility Assessment: Evaluations to help the elderly maintain or improve their mobility and independence.


Cervical Cancer Screening: Conducted by CerviQ to ensure early detection and prevention.


ECG (Electrocardiogram): Heart health assessments to detect any potential issues early on.

Dental Extraction: Essential dental care services to improve oral health.


Bone Density Testing: Assessments to identify and address issues related to bone health.


Blood Sugar Testing: Screenings to monitor and manage blood sugar levels, are crucial for diabetes prevention and management.


Distribution of First Aid Kits: Providing essential supplies to enhance safety and preparedness.

Community Support and Participation


This outreach project is supported by numerous community leaders and organizations. PP Annaliza Chan, District 3790 Membership Chair & Polio-Plus Coordinator, is among the notable supporters, demonstrating the widespread commitment to the initiative. The Baguio City Health Office, MBRB, Everlasting Lions Club, and the Department of Civil Defense are also pivotal in ensuring the project's success.
