Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Clubs Unite for Day of Service Focused on Maternal and Child Health

July 1 is Rotary New Year!

This year's Rotary theme is Maternal and Child. To celebrate, the Rotary Club of Quezon City MediaTech (D3780) and the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) joined forces with the active Rotaract and Interact Clubs of Quezon City MediaTech for a Rotary Day of Service.

During the event, Rotaractors and Interactors conducted demonstrations on handwashing, toothbrushing, and DIY liquid soap making. They also distributed reference books to high school students and coloring books to primary and kindergarten pupils.

Mothers and children received Fortified Rice packs from Kids for Hunger (USA), along with slippers, masks, toothbrushes, and dishwashing liquid in recycled bottles. RCQMT Charter President Meric Mara led the MAHUSAY ONLINE project under the CyberTeach flagship initiative, while Immediate Past President Sophia Quin Mara organized fun games. Lunch packs were provided for all attendees.

In total, around 160 recipients benefited from the Rotary New Year launch for RY 2024-2025.

Kudos to Presidents Jess Fernandez and Soraya Rieta for successfully launching the Rotary New Year together!

The Sisterhood Renewal between Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) and Rotary Club of Quezon City MediaTech (D3780) took place following the Rotary Day of Service event.

PP Megs Lunn (Club Trainor) stood in for Pres. Jess Fernandez, and CP Meric Mara represented Pres. Soraya Reita. Immediate Past President Sophia Mara along with Rotaractors and Interactors, served as witnesses to the renewal.
