The Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris had the distinct honor of welcoming District 3860 Governor Caroline Lee-Andrade, affectionately known as DG Caycay, on March 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The event took place at the Bulawan Hall of the Golden Prince Hotel, located on Acacia Street in Cebu City. This gathering provided a significant opportunity for the club to engage with their district leader, gaining valuable insights and feedback on the club’s ongoing and upcoming projects.
The program was officially called to order by President Myra Urbiztondo, who warmly welcomed everyone to the event. The formalities began with Secretary Roxene Rosario acknowledging the distinguished guests, including District Governor Caroline Lee-Andrade, District Executive Secretary Jonathan Tse, and IDS Mary Christine Chua. The presence of these distinguished leaders underscored the importance of the occasion for the members of the club.
Following the opening remarks, President Myra Urbiztondo delivered the President’s Report, offering a comprehensive update on the club's recent activities and accomplishments. The report highlighted both past and upcoming projects, emphasizing the club’s commitment to its community and Rotary’s mission.
One of the key highlights of the report was a review of the club’s ongoing support for The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and its participation in the Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) initiative. These efforts encourage Rotarians to contribute regularly to TRF, which helps fund humanitarian projects across the globe.
In addition to the President’s Report, a segment was dedicated to discussing The Rotary Foundation's current initiatives. This report outlined the club's active participation in various global projects supported by TRF, particularly those addressing critical issues such as education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. The importance of continued engagement with TRF was emphasized, as it plays a vital role in enabling Rotary’s worldwide humanitarian efforts.
