In the spirit of the holiday season, the Rotary Club of Luntiang Maynila Prime set forth on a journey filled with laughter, goodwill, and a festive heart. This year’s community service project, aptly named "Pamaskong Handog Para Sa Dumagat Community," promised to spread joy and warmth to those who needed it most.
On a sunny afternoon, the group, led by Club President Elberto Regis, gathered at the designated meeting point. With the sun high in the sky, they departed at 11:00 AM, filled with anticipation. The sound of cheerful chatter and laughter filled the air as they boarded their vehicles, ready to make a difference in the lives of the 50 families living in Sitio Durumugan, Barangay Kalawakan, DRT Bulacan.
As they made their way to the Luntiang Maynila Camp Site, the journey was filled with excitement and purpose. Stories were shared, plans were discussed, and the team envisioned the smiles they would create. After a few hours of travel, they arrived at their destination at around 2:00 PM, greeted by the warm sunlight cascading over the beautiful landscape.
The excitement was palpable as they unloaded supplies and set up for the afternoon event. With the help of Sunway International Manpower Services Inc. and the Regis Foundation, they had prepared a bountiful feast and essential provisions.
Families from the Dumagat community began to arrive, their faces lighting up with curiosity and joy. One by one, they were welcomed and guided to activities that were designed to bring everyone together. The air was rich with the aroma of pansit—the classic dish symbolizing long life and good fortune—being served hot and ready to enjoy.
As the delicious meal was shared, laughter rang out amidst the lively conversations. Children eagerly awaited their turn to be called forward, and as the moment arrived, President Elberto Regis stepped up with a heart full of joy. With a warm smile, he distributed cash gifts to all the children, who squealed with delight and rushed to share their surprises with their families.
The main event of the day unfolded as each family received a generous package comprising 10 kilos of rice, canned goods, and groceries—provisions that would surely brighten their holiday season and sustain them in the weeks to come.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, a sense of unity and warmth enveloped the campsite. The families expressed their heartfelt gratitude, their eyes gleaming with appreciation for the kindness shown to them.
“Pamaskong Handog Para Sa Dumagat Community” was not just about giving—it was about creating connections, nurturing relationships, and being reminded of the spirit of giving that shines brightest during the Christmas season.
As the day drew to a close, the Rotary Club of Luntiang Maynila Prime left behind not only gifts and provisions but also a sense of hope, joy, and community. Each member carried with them the joy of having made a difference, and the promise to continue spreading love and kindness beyond this day.
