The Rotary Club of Downtown Davao held a special block screening of "Moana 2" at Cinema 1, Abreeza Mall, combining entertainment with advocacy to support a critical global cause. This event aimed to raise awareness and funds for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to eradicating polio worldwide.
The screening drew an enthusiastic audience of 201 attendees, with 65% of them being children accompanied by their families and friends. It was more than just a movie night—it was a meaningful opportunity for families to bond while contributing to an important mission. The highly anticipated film provided a wonderful experience for attendees, making the event both enjoyable and impactful.
This initiative would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Dragon Speed Trucking Corporation, DC Tacs, and the dedicated members of the Rotary Club of Downtown Davao. Their contributions played a key role in making this event a success.
Special recognition goes to the EndPolio Fundraising Committee, led by Past President Andrea dela Cerna, with co-chairs Baby Rotarians Kim Ng-Ho and Sean Emmanuel Leynes, whose dedication and hard work ensured the event’s success. Their leadership and commitment to service exemplify the spirit of Rotary.
The evening was a remarkable success, bringing the community together for a noble cause. Beyond the excitement of watching a beloved film, attendees became part of a movement dedicated to making polio a disease of the past.
The Rotary Club of Downtown Davao remains steadfast in its mission to support global health initiatives, proving once again that small efforts, when united, can create a lasting impact.
