Flowing Forward: Rotary Club Brings Clean Water to Lanton High School Annex

The Rotary Club of Metro Dadiangas held a Turnover and Blessing Ceremony for its District Grant Project—the construction of a 6,000-liter overhead water tank for General Santos City High School, Lanton High School Annex, located in Barangay Apopong, General Santos City.

Message from Samuel Sia:

First of all, we thanked the Almighty God for allowing the Rotary Club of Metro Dadiangas to finish this lifetime and a very memorable project in the club’s history, being part of the Rotary District 3860 family, as this is the biggest single project that the club has ever had.

I thanked our fellow Metro Rotarians, our Rotaractors, and our guests who personally witnessed the occasion: District 3860 District Grant Sub Committee Chair, Mr. Jose Fortuato Uy, Assistant Governor Ernesto De Guzman of Area 3G, DFC Mark Jerome Tiongson, officers from the Department of Education, to the teaching force of the said school headed by its Principal, Mr. Isidro Salanio, and the students who were gathered for this for this very special occasion – the Turnover Ceremony and Blessing of our club’s District Grant Project.

Looking back at the past, the Rotary Club of Metro Dadiangas had been visiting this school back in 2022. We kept on discussing how to effectively distribute the water to every room, to all floors, and found out that the only way to do it is to erect an overhead tank, which we now constructed. And how did the Rotary Club of Metro Dadiangas proceed on this project?

With our members' constant and yearly contribution to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) we were able to obtain a grant upon the approval of our District Governor, Caroline Andrade, District Foundation Chair, Stephen Chian, District Foundation Sub-Committee Chair PDG Rodel Riezel Reyes, and District Grant Sub-Committee Chair, Mr. Jose Fortunato Uy. The Rotary Foundation is a big help in changing the lives of those in need of help.

Sa inyo pong lahat – MARAMING SALAMAT PO!
